Father,
we are men and fathers, and selfish and uncaring.
We’ve had sex and not been loving husbands,
neither caring about nor caring for
the women we’ve enjoyed.
We’ve fathered children,
and neither cared about nor cared for them.
We have not cared to invest our lives so that
our children might be the heroes for their generations.

So there is a curse on our land.

Turn our hearts so that the curse may lift.

Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her…

When I heard these things, I sat down and wept.

For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.

Then I said:

O I AM, God of heaven,

the great and awesome God,

the God who keeps His covenant of love

with those who love Him

and obey His commands,

let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open to hear the prayer

Your servant is praying before You day and night

for Your servants, the people Your Son redeemed.

I confess the sins we Redeemed,

including myself and my closest brothers,

have committed against You!

We have acted very wickedly toward You.

We have not obeyed the commands You gave through Your Son.

Father, turn our hearts.
